Denotation /connotation:
The way the model is standing?
She is standing in a powerful position as she’s holding the door and looking back this makes her look like she’s in control.
Their Facial Expression?
Her facial expression is normal but also draws attention on the way she’s looking.
The location for the adverts?
She’s walking into a club, and it’s also shows men looking at her whilst she’s opening the door. It’s a perfume advert so she might smell nice and she’s also dressed up wearing an open dress.
The storyline?
The storyline is that she’s walking into a place where there’s lots of people and if you wear this perfume and you go to an expensive place or if you go there where men are that the smell of the perfume will attract them to you and make you in control of them.
The costume?
She’s is dressed up wearing a tight dress that shows most of her back, this is because she’s trying to attract people and try make herself in control.
Any props in the advert?
Yes, her clothing, the door handle and many more other things.
The colours that are used?
It’s mainly dark colours that are used in this advert.
The name of the product?
The name of the product is Armani Code. The code might mean that something secrets to do something or try to get something/someone.
The font used?
The used a different italic/type of font but it still stands out.
Camera shot/angle?
They used a medium shot because if they was to do it close up or far back you wouldn’t be able to see what’s happening in the background.
Target Audience:
Who is the product aimed at?
This product is aimed at young women.
Gender? Age? Ethnicity?
This is aimed at young women to middle aged 18-30year olds that go out to parties and expensive places where the smell can draw attention.
Jobs/Income?
Women that might work in an office and for young women that like to go out to parties and clubs and they’ll use this perfume to smell nice.

This magazine is aimed at middle aged men work in very successful businesses. The word ‘esquire’ means gentlemen, so these men would be respectful and professional. These men may be single as their busy schedule or their job prevents them from having a decent life with a partner and a family, these people may drive cars and they won’t be cheap cars and they might not live in a council flat or house, they might have their own apartment. The people who read this might be in to music or people may get their fashion tips to make them look smart.
MAIN IMAGE – The main image is a picture of Dizzy Rascal, which is different because Dizzy Rascal represents younger people like teenagers as he’s a MC/singer. This may be because Esquire is trying expanding the target audience for teenagers as well as the adults/business people to get more readers and more people to buy the magazine. Dizzy Rascal in a way represents more of a masculine magazine as he’s hands are clench which shows strength and shows that this is more of a masculine magazine and he is also wearing a suit to show he’s a business person.
MASTHEAD – The masthead clearly stands out, the title ‘esquire’ is written in bold and black writing which appeals to the audience. The masthead is also very elegant , the name ‘esquire’ is another way of saying gentleman and these gentlemen may work as a business person and they wont to represent themselves as a smart working person they might get there fashion tips from the magazine because it has tips on the best styles of the year and the best suits.
TARGET AUDIENCE – The magazine is aimed at middle aged men, (25-45). You can see this magazine are aimed at middle class men who have a good job because of the sell lines, they say things what boys can do or give them fashion tips or tells them about football, there’s nothing on the front cover of the magazine to do with any girls or females.
Colour Scheme - The colour scheme in esquire uses plain colours like black and white. This might be because its more business type like their suits they wear and also its more of a masculine colours.
SELL LINES – The sells lines on this magazine are also masculine as you can tell because it has things about football, fashion tips on how to look smart, places to buy suits and things about women.

What is the definition of Magazine?
A magazine is an article about different types of hobbies, lifestyle, gossip, fashion and many other things.
What types/genres of magazines can you think of?
Music, lifestyle, children, hobbies, trends, food, gossip, fashion, television gossip, television guide
There are hundreds of different types of magazines but what are the common elements of all or most of them:
They all have different type of information, trends and different inspirations , some of them have the say price, they at least have
Why do you think we have magazines?
Because some people want to know what’s happening on TV, some people might what fashion tips, help on how to cook a good recipe, the recent music that’s out etc.
What kind of magazines are most popular within your year group and why do you think this is ?
